Have questions about choosing classes, degree requirements, important deadlines, or university policies? We're here to help! SMS academic advisors are ready to answer your questions, offer guidance, and help you navigate your academic journey.
We are located in Suite PSC 116 in the Bateman Physical Sciences Building, C Wing.
Hours of Operation: The SMS Advising office is open Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm (AZ MST) and closed for lunch from 12-1pm.

Schedule an appointment
Schedule an in-person, Zoom, or phone appointment with an advisor.
Be ready to connect. Join your appointment from a computer or mobile device with reliable internet so you can access ASU tools and make the most of your time with your advisor.
Need to cancel or running late? Let us know as soon as possible by calling 480-965-7667 or using the cancellation link in your confirmation or reminder email. If you’re more than 10 minutes late or can’t access the internet during your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment or Same Day Advising session.
Double-check the time. All appointments are scheduled in Arizona (MST) during our regular office hours. Be sure to confirm the current Arizona time before your appointment.
Keep it respectful. We strive to create a welcoming, professional environment. Please communicate respectfully with advising staff in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct.
We’ve got your message. Once you’ve reached out, there’s no need to follow up right away. Please allow up to 2 business days for a response.
Is this your first year at ASU?
First-year students (not including online students) receive advising support from The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Same-Day Advising
Have a quick question or need help with course registration? Same-Day Advising makes it easy to connect with an SMS advisor about enrolling in courses, degree progression questions, or any other time-sensitive questions you may have while attending ASU. Choose the option that's most convenient for you—in person, on Zoom, or by phone.
Same-Day Advising Days & Hours
- Wednesdays: 9–11 a.m.
- Wednesdays: 1–3 p.m.
All times are AZ MST Time.
- Aug 10–14 and Aug 17–21 — Same-Day Advising daily, 9–11 a.m. and 1–3 p.m.
- No scheduled advising appointments during these dates.
