Michelle is a Laboratory Coordinator, Sr. for the School of Molecular Sciences. She manages the School’s General Chemistry Stockroom that supports the undergraduate instructional chemistry lab classes, teaching assistants, and instructors. Michelle’s interest in lab support stems from her undergraduate studies and appreciation of the stockroom staff supporting her undergraduate institution. She has over 5 years’ experience as support staff for university chemistry laboratories in addition to teaching as an adjunct instructor for several years.
Michelle’s education and experience prior to becoming a laboratory coordinator focused on chemical toxicology and DNA analysis. She spent over 5 years working in private laboratories analyzing the effects of toxic substances on histological samples and, later, interpreting DNA profiles for paternity testing and forensics. She is an Arizona native who enjoys spending her free time in the cooler elevations and her hobbies include reading, solving the Rubik’s cube, and sharing her love for chemistry with her children.
