Gerdenis Kodis was born in 1969, in Vilnius, Lithuania. He graduated from Vilnius University (1993) and received his Sc.D. in physics from the Institute of Physics, Lithuania, in 1999. While as the research fellow at the Institute of Physics, he was involved in laser physics and ultrafast spectroscopy of molecular materials. Later, he joined the group of professors Devens Gust, Thomas Moore and Ana Moore with ASU's School of Molecular Sciences, working in the field of artificial photosynthesis and molecular photonics. In 2008, he founded photonics products brokerage company, Magic Photonics, LLC. Presently, he is working as assistant research professor with the School of Molecular Sciences and the Biodesign Institute at ASU.
